It is very difficult to find this excellent book, but now you can read it in Google books:

I see that you are getting new members - great! Can I invite people to join too?
I have been producing top quality indoor wood for 2 years and now, most of the top indoor flyers in Europe have it. Schramm, Popa, Mangalea, Ree, Orsovai and many others from France/Italy/Spain/Czech Republic etc have my wood - I take a lot to the European and World Champs every year and send it by post too. The machine was built by Ron Green and when he passed away, he left the machine to me so now, I continue his tradition.
I have about 4000 sheets of wood in stock, from 0.007 up to about 0.13. Most people want A grain for F1D/F1L/F1M etc spars and prop outlines and also, C grain for ribs and for sticks/booms and thin prop blades. Now that Spring is here, I will start cutting again - mostly, thin C wood for stick and boom and prop blades but I also cut wood for scale flyers too.
The wood is not cheap. 1 sheet is 5 Euros/English Pounds and I also have some Premium sheets that are 6 Euros/English pounds - either because, the grain is fantastic, or stiff, or the sheet is very wide or longer than normal. When I post wood overseas, I charge 10 Euros for insured postage and there is a minimum order of 10 sheets.
So, if you want some wood for blades and sticks/booms or anything else, please send me a list of exactly what you need. I will not send bad wood and so far, nobody has complained.
I prefer payment as cash in Euros/Pounds, sent to me in a registered letter.
Please tell all your Scandinavian friends too.
Best wishes and happy flying,
Nick.
fun that make a site for indoorpilots, thank you
for the invite. will look at this page a lot!!
cheers axel
I recall reading (in Indoor Mailing List) Drela's analysis, with the conclusion that the only thing that VP does is reduce the prop efficiency so that at high motor torques the model does not climb to the ceiling. Even this is a benefit, as with fixed pitch you would need to back-off those high torque turns, and it gives longer flight time if you can use those turns flying, even at poor prop efficiency. But, of course, the flight time would be even longer if the prop efficiency could be increased. VD seems to offer this, but thus far the technical details have been much more difficult than the current standard of VP mechanisms.
I will do my best to express my self in english.
