"Greetings Uwe,   You can try ungluing the stick with thinners and then re-rolling it. Don't bake/heat the tube to dry it - let it dry in air for several days. You might not need to add more glue when you close the seam but just reactivate…"

"Well done Aki san! The most impressive part was that you managed to avoid the difficult cieling! It would have been much more simple to fly in Jan Massink hal in Nijmegen, Netherlands och a similar flat cieling. Could you give us some more details…"

"Thanks, Nick san. I hope everyone aim at my records and break them. I think it will be possible (for someone) to do 18 mins at a good air and ceiling cat1 gym. Another old record is F1L cat1, 19:39. I should aim at it, but it must be very difficult…"

nick aikman replied to Sven's discussion What F1D model to build?
"Hi Sven, F1D's don't look exactly the same and there are many differences to see when models are in the air if you look closely. The higher the ceiling, the more difficult it is to tell the difference. It is only very difficult in the…"

BIG models!

I just put 2 pics from the Slanic saltmine of beautiful, big, unlimited 'microfilm' models in my album of F1D pics. The models were built by Aurel Popa and Zoltan Sukosd. I think they may? be flying them at Santa Ana in California this weekend.

Nick.

Welcome Nick! I hope we can share information and inspiration by using this service. Too bad that Microsoft chosed to shut down msn groups!

Nice to see your serious wood cutting machine. I could use some good C-grain for making F1L prop blades and sticks and boom for F1D!

Thanks Sven. This site is much better than MSN groups and I hope it helps many indoor flyers to get better.

I will send more details of my indoor wood soon. I took the pics of the machine for a paper on woodcutting that will be published in the 2009 NFFS Symposium Report.

Hi Nick,

I just read what you wrote about your high quality balsa production, and I will spread the word to the people here in Linköping! We are actually searching for good prop/fuselage c-grain balsa at the moment, so this is really good news! I suppose we will make arrangements with the others here in Sweden and order together.

Best regards,
David

Hi Nick,
I changed my job two years ago. Don't have enough time to make the model. But I need therapy now. My job is very stressful.

Turkish indoor modelers are sluggishness Since more than three years. No competitions or no meeteng.

two months ago I bought new tools and some materials from Tim Goldstein's and Ray Harlan's shop. Rubber stripper, balsa stripper, film for cover, glue applicator, tungsten wire, boron etc. For f1L- F1M and especially F1D :)))

I started again indoor modelling. make the model will be good to me.
I think I will need your help again Nick.

best regards
Caner

I am still trying to find  out whether Dieter Siebenmann´s  FID-design with the small elevator is good. So far my test flights have shown that it is not better than the usual design with the large levator. I have now changed the model a bit and put the CG at the 45% position. a bit forward. I am going to testfly it tomorrow.

Best wishes
